At BIG W, they know as families grow, children tend to grow out of their old toys, and with few options to recycle them, they often end up in landfill. That’s why, as part of their sustainability journey, they are excited to expand their successful Toys for Joy program!

BIG W’s Toys for Joy is a first of its kind, toy recycling program aimed at reducing landfill by providing families with an easy and accessible disposal alternative. BIG W is committed to reducing landfill and helping to make new, fun things for kids and communities to enjoy. Even small kids can make a BIG difference. 

So, do you have old, broken toys cluttering up your home? Don’t bin them, donate them at BIG W Jesmond Central. Just drop them into the Toys for Joy chest in store, where all donations get passed onto their partner. 

Please note, not all toys can be recycled.
BIG W can’t accept - books; batteries in toys; board games; wooden toys; Play-doh, paint and slime; pens, pencils, crayons or paint brushes; oversized toys such as bikes, scooters, skateboards; sports toys such as soccer goals.
